Family Child Care

Army regulations require Family Child Care certification for anyone providing more than 10 hours of child care weekly, on a regular basis, in government quarters. Care is in the certified provider's home, which must meet safety, fire and health standards. Providers undergo professional training in infant/child CPR, first aid, child guidance techniques and developmentally appropriate activities. The USDA food program provides nutritional guidelines.

FCC Romp & Stomp is held Tuesday and Thursday mornings November through April for providers and FCC children. The homes are monitored and inspected on an on-going basis by FCC staff who are trained to assist the providers with establishing and following an individual program.

All programs offer developmentally appropriate activities and a safe, healthy environments for children. Referrals try to meet the special needs of each family. Special school age homes offer 4-H clubs for children enrolled in their programs. State and local licensed off-post homes may become part of the FCC program.
