Army regulations require Family Child Care certification for anyone
providing more than 10 hours of child care weekly, on a regular basis,
in government quarters.
Care is in the certified provider's home, which must meet safety,
fire and health standards.
Providers undergo professional training in infant/child CPR, first aid,
child guidance techniques and developmentally appropriate activities.
The USDA food program provides nutritional guidelines.
FCC Romp & Stomp is held Tuesday and Thursday mornings November
through April for providers and FCC children.
The homes are monitored and inspected on an on-going basis by FCC staff
who are trained to assist the providers with establishing and following
an individual program.
All programs offer developmentally appropriate activities and a safe,
healthy environments for children.
Referrals try to meet the special needs of each family.
Special school age homes offer 4-H clubs for children enrolled in their
programs.
State and local licensed off-post homes may become part of the FCC program.
